Cape Coral, Florida

My recent “Girl’s Trip” turned into everything BUT which called for a major change of plans with a toddler in tow. One Uber Ride + impromptu Air BnB selection later and I found myself in lovely Cape Coral, Florida !

Cape Coral is a small city in southwest Florida within driving distance from Fort Meyers + easy access to the Sanibel Causeway which leads to Sanibel Island & Captiva Island (highly recommend*) It is most commonly known for it’s abundance of canals + wildlife preserves.

Our stay in Cape Coral was brief BUT absolutely amazing. I owe a large portion of our good times to the Yacht Club Community Park which has a kid-friendly pier, clean public beach, free (available) parking + even a shaded playground all right on the Caloosahatchee River.

As for dining – we did not need to go far to stumble on The Boathouse – Tiki Bar & Grill. They are located right next to the Yacht Club Community Park pier + this place is a true GEM ! Waterfront views, enclosed beach/ water area, Great food for both adults + children (even featured on the Travel Channel**) , amazing drinks, fabulous prices, and the decor /outdoor aesthetic is everything you could ever ask for while on vacation. I highly recommend The Big BLT which comes stacked with 8 strips of thick cut bacon – BACON LOVERS UNITE !
